Our family would like to thank Delanoy Funeral Services for the care they gave organising my Gran's Funeral, Mary Smith. Throughout the whole process, John and Julie were kind and considerate and were readily available to talk through arrangements and give advice. Nothing troubled them. They responded positively to all our family requests and their sensitive approach and attention to detail was greatly appreciated. On the day of the funeral, they and their team were highly supportive. Their dignity, expertise and professionalism shone through. Another fantastic service of John Delanoy and Julie from Delanoy Funeral Services myself and 3 other family members been up to durham crematorium for a direct cremation of a uncle although it was only a direct cremation it's what the deceased wanted no fuss.John brought him up in the hearse other company's where just coming in cars or vans walked him into the crematorium put flowers and photo on the coffin at no extra cost and let us even sit with our uncle for couple of mins and played music absolutely fantastic service from them.x

Julie's video tribute to Ron was perfect. A touching tribute to him, which he'd have loved. Julie was so innovative and imaginative in producing something with unexpected touches throughout.
This was the first experience I have personally had with Delanoy's but my mother has family ties with the company going back generations, so we knew they were a long-established and well respected company.
They were very responsive. Prompt and accomodating of everything we wanted. Both of us would highly recommend their service to anyone.

My father recently died and Delanoys were our first choice for acting as our funeral partners. I use funeral partners rather than funeral directors because John and Julie involved the family at every step of the funeral planning. No detail was too small for them to step in and take care of, to provide the smoothest and most unobtrusive service we could possibly expect.

Delanoys don't take centre stage in the funeral, the family do; Delanoys make sure that everything is taken care of so that the family have nothing to worry about. Nothing is left to chance and the level of planning ensures the funeral is as smooth as possible, and their local knowledge and local contacts eases the pressure at an incredibly stressful time.

I had no hesitation in contacting Delanoy funeral services after the previous experience we had with the passing of my mother.

I lost my soul partner Ian Calvert , the support and care through the most difficult of times helped me through. I could not recommend this service high enough to anyone.

We as a family cannot speak highly enough of the personal, professional and respectful way John and Julie handled our Dad’s funeral.
From the day our Dad passed right up to the day we laid him to rest they went above and beyond in making the day perfect even with a few last minute touches and surprises for the family. They were extremely considerate and showed empathy throughout in what was a very difficult time for all of us and for that we will always remain extremely grateful. We cannot recommend them enough.

Delanoy Funeral Services provided truly exceptional care during such a difficult time for our family. From the very beginning, they were kind, patient, and incredibly compassionate, which made a world of difference to us.

They took the time to really listen and understand what we wanted, and it was clear that they genuinely cared about every detail. Seeing my mam in the chapel was both emotional and comforting — she looked absolutely beautiful, and her hair was done to perfection. That meant so much to us.

My husband, Bill, said he wanted a no fuss, simple funeral and that is what Delanoy arranged for us. After the incident on Wednesday, when John was injured whilst carrying out his duty, we wanted to reaffirm why we walk in front of the hearse.

Thank you to every driver in Easington today who showed us the utmost respect and held back to allow our cortege to pass safely. It truly meant a great deal to ourselves and the family.

Walking in front of the hearse is a long-standing tradition and a final act of care. It symbolises leading the deceased on their final journey and also lets other road users know a funeral procession is taking place.

We never experienced anything like Wednesday’s incident, and we hope we never do again. All we ask is for patience, awareness and respect when you see a funeral cortege.

During my wonderful dad's final journey, a driver overtook the hearse and funeral cars. It is a difficult and heartbreaking day enough as it is. This makes me so sad. Xx
