Another fantastic service of John Delanoy and Julie from Delanoy Funeral Services myself and 3 other family members been up to durham crematorium for a direct cremation of a uncle although it was only a direct cremation it's what the deceased wanted no fuss.John brought him up in the hearse other company's where just coming in cars or vans walked him into the crematorium put flowers and photo on the coffin at no extra cost and let us even sit with our uncle for couple of mins and played music absolutely fantastic service from them.x

My father recently died and Delanoys were our first choice for acting as our funeral partners. I use funeral partners rather than funeral directors because John and Julie involved the family at every step of the funeral planning. No detail was too small for them to step in and take care of, to provide the smoothest and most unobtrusive service we could possibly expect.

Delanoys don't take centre stage in the funeral, the family do; Delanoys make sure that everything is taken care of so that the family have nothing to worry about. Nothing is left to chance and the level of planning ensures the funeral is as smooth as possible, and their local knowledge and local contacts eases the pressure at an incredibly stressful time.

Delanoy Funeral Services recently arranged my father’s funeral. John and Julie made the whole process so much easier than it could have been. They were sensitive, caring and compassionate when dealing with myself and my family and offered a totally bespoke service with some wonderfully personal touches. They even got up at sunrise to take my father on a drive past his favourite places and made a very touching video of this which we have watched several times and really helped us with the grieving process. These people really care about what they do. They are professional, caring and totally aware of the importance of their role to grieving families. We as a family cannot speak highly enough of the personal, professional and respectful way John and Julie handled our Dad’s funeral.
From the day our Dad passed right up to the day we laid him to rest they went above and beyond in making the day perfect even with a few last minute touches and surprises for the family. They were extremely considerate and showed empathy throughout in what was a very difficult time for all of us and for that we will always remain extremely grateful. We cannot recommend them enough.

My husband, Bill, said he wanted a no fuss, simple funeral and that is what Delanoy arranged for us. My daughter and I have nothing but praise for the professionalism, caring and compassion shown to us by Julie and John. They were like friends we had known for a long time and nothing was a trouble. The funeral was a simple but beautiful closure to his life. My daughter and I can only compliment and recommend them, and their staff, for their support and organisation at such a sad time.

A beautiful final farewell for former miner Martin Jones today in Easington.

Martin loved the Durham Big Meeting, the brass bands, and everything the mining community stood for. It was a real honour to have the Miners’ Banner out for him today.

Thank you to Alan Cummings for arranging for the banner to be there, and to the brass band players who came along to support us and Martin’s family. Your presence meant so much.
