John and Julie helped my family and I through the toughest time of our lives. From day 1 they were kind, caring, compassionate although very professional. We unexpectedly and very sadly lost my brother in May and the time he spent in the hands of Delanoy’s I know he was treated with respect and love, John went above and beyond for us as a family when visiting my brother with a little touch of spraying his aftershave in the viewing area which brought great comfort to me and my family. We cannot repay John and Julie for the amazing service provided throughout and the constant communication at any time of day which is extremely helpful for a grieving family, nothing is a bother to them. My family cannot speak highly enough of the kind, caring and empathetic service Delanoy Funeral Services provided to us all following the death of our beloved mam. The service and support provided was faultless from the moment they were contacted until the day of the funeral. Julie and John at Delanoy knew that mam was a long-standing Sunderland AFC ticket holder who followed the club home and away. Knowing how much the club meant to her, on the day before her funeral, Delanoy took her on one last trip to the Stadium of Light and made a beautiful short video of the visit. This was entirely at the behest of John and Julie and was a wonderful and emotional surprise for the whole family. It meant so much to us all. Mam would have been so thrilled and delighted. Julie and John helped immensely with my dad’s funeral earlier this year. They were professional, patient, highly responsive, kind and generous with their time. Another fantastic service of John Delanoy and Julie from Delanoy Funeral Services myself and 3 other family members been up to durham crematorium for a direct cremation of a uncle although it was only a direct cremation it's what the deceased wanted no fuss.John brought him up in the hearse other company's where just coming in cars or vans walked him into the crematorium put flowers and photo on the coffin at no extra cost and let us even sit with our uncle for couple of mins and played music absolutely fantastic service from them.x

Arranging a funeral from the other side of the county was as daunting task. John and Julie handled everything from transportation to suggestions on the wake. The service that they have provided since the moment we initially made that first call, up until the day of mams service has been truly outstanding.
In particular the bespoke services that they offer really is second to none.
We have family members who were unfortunately unable to attend mams funeral due to the current restrictions, but with the help of Julie’s personalised tributes and video footage taken on the day, this will allow them to be part of mams final journey which was so important to the family.
It definitely takes a special kind of person to do what they do, consoling and supporting bereaved families but they are both truly amazing people. They act with genuine respect, care and compassion.
Julie in particular works tirelessly around the clock, and despite having other families to support she has been there for us at all times which is something we cannot thank her enough for.
She has been a shoulder to cry on, and has acted like a friend in what has been a very sad journey.

My father recently died and Delanoys were our first choice for acting as our funeral partners. I use funeral partners rather than funeral directors because John and Julie involved the family at every step of the funeral planning. No detail was too small for them to step in and take care of, to provide the smoothest and most unobtrusive service we could possibly expect.

Delanoys don't take centre stage in the funeral, the family do; Delanoys make sure that everything is taken care of so that the family have nothing to worry about. Nothing is left to chance and the level of planning ensures the funeral is as smooth as possible, and their local knowledge and local contacts eases the pressure at an incredibly stressful time.

Delanoys were so sensitive in organising our Mam’s funeral. Julie and John are easy to trust. At a time when it is hard to think clearly, they take away the worry and stress by stepping you through what needs to happen. They listened and responded with tasteful suggestions. They keep in touch and are very clear on what you do and don’t need to think about. In the end, we had the most wonderful day which celebrated Mam’s life with all the people who knew and loved her. At a sad time, you are very safe in their hands.

During your saddest times Julie and John are the people you need. Julie’s incredible and genuine warmth and John’s quiet, reassuring professionalism will navigate you through this awful time. Nothing is too much trouble and no question is too silly. Always contactable you’re made to feel like you’re their only priority. We felt so fortunate to have found them and to have been able to entrust our mum to them. Everything was so beautifully, tastefully and respectfully orchestrated. My partner david got taken to Sunderland Royal hospital and passed away on the 20th July with cancer he hadn't had it very long but we all knew how bad he was getting the service john and julie gave for david was above and beyond the kindness they showed me and my family at the sad time the celebrant with her kind words also the roses gone on David's hearse.Hes now laid to rest and not in pain
