Delanoy funeral services were professional from the outset. Both John and Julie attended our family home on a Sunday to take my deceased mother into their care.

You can feel that they truly care and aim to make connections at what is a very difficult time of grief and loss.

Everything could be personalised and upmost care and attention was given to ensure the service and burial went as planned in quite a short timescale.

The service and support provided was faultless from the moment they were contacted until the day of the funeral. Julie and John at Delanoy knew that mam was a long-standing Sunderland AFC ticket holder who followed the club home and away. Knowing how much the club meant to her, on the day before her funeral, Delanoy took her on one last trip to the Stadium of Light and made a beautiful short video of the visit. This was entirely at the behest of John and Julie and was a wonderful and emotional surprise for the whole family. It meant so much to us all. Mam would have been so thrilled and delighted. From the day our Dad passed right up to the day we laid him to rest they went above and beyond in making the day perfect even with a few last minute touches and surprises for the family. They were extremely considerate and showed empathy throughout in what was a very difficult time for all of us and for that we will always remain extremely grateful. We cannot recommend them enough.

They took the time to really listen and understand what we wanted, and it was clear that they genuinely cared about every detail. Seeing my mam in the chapel was both emotional and comforting — she looked absolutely beautiful, and her hair was done to perfection. That meant so much to us.

This morning, we said goodbye to Mark Jepson “Jeppa” a much loved and dedicated Sunderland supporter.

Mark sadly passed away just two months after losing his mother, and we felt it was only right to give him a memorable send-off that was personal to him and reflected the love so many had for him.

I am so sorry to hear this. Marilyn and I would occasionally text each other. She would keep me informed of the happenings in England. She always thought of other folks. Her last message to me ended with, "Take care pet." Just typical of her character. I am so very sad. RIP Marilyn you are an Easington Icon.
