John and Julie are the ultimate in customer care. From day one they showed care and kindness and guided us through the whole process. I can only say they made a difficult time easier to bear. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and support we received from Delanoy Funeral Services following the death of my mum.
From the very beginning, they were exceptional in every way. Their communication was brilliant, and at a time when everything can feel completely overwhelming, they calmly and compassionately guided us through the entire process. Everything was clearly explained, including the different options available for the coffin, flowers, burial plot and refreshments afterwards. Nothing ever felt rushed or impersonal, and we always felt that we could ask questions or seek advice.
What touched me most, however, was the genuine care, dignity and respect with which they treated my mum. They helped me to visit her in the Chapel of Rest and made what was an incredibly difficult and emotional experience as gentle as it possibly could be. They also arranged for me to have some clippings of Mum’s hair as a keepsake—something very small perhaps, but something that means an enormous amount to me and that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
The care taken with Mum’s appearance was also incredibly moving. Her hair and make-up had been done beautifully and sensitively, and she looked peaceful and cared for. Seeing her treated with such tenderness, dignity and respect brought me a great deal of comfort.
Throughout the whole process, and on the day of Mum’s funeral itself on 15th September, we were treated with nothing but kindness, empathy, professionalism and genuine compassion. At what has undoubtedly been the most difficult period of my life, knowing that my mum was being looked after by people who genuinely cared made an enormous difference.
There are some professions where simply doing the job well is not enough; it is the humanity, compassion and kindness shown alongside it that people remember. I will always remember the way Mum and our family were treated.
I am deeply grateful for everything they did for us and would recommend them without hesitation to any family needing someone they can trust to care for their loved one with dignity, respect and genuine compassion.

The loss of a loved one is extremely hard but it helps if you receive care and support at this time. In this regard, as a family, we were so grateful for the help of John and Julie. They guided us through the process and came up with useful suggestions on setting up the funeral arrangements. Everyone we spoke to afterwards were complimentary on the service, in particular, the video of a life well spent by dad (jack). Our thanks to John and Julie for making a difficult day bearable and providing our family with memories of dad which will never go away.

We wanted to take the time to say a huge Thank you to both Julie and John for the support that they have given us throughout this very difficult time. The service that they have provided since the moment we initially made that first call, up until the day of mams service has been truly outstanding. In particular the bespoke services that they offer really is second to none. We have family members who were unfortunately unable to attend mams funeral due to the current restrictions, but with the help of Julie’s personalised tributes and video footage taken on the day, this will allow them to be part of mams final journey which was so important to the family. It definitely takes a special kind of person to do what they do, consoling and supporting bereaved families but they are both truly amazing people. They act with genuine respect, care and compassion. Julie in particular works tirelessly around the clock, and despite having other families to support she has been there for us at all times which is something we cannot thank her enough for. She has been a shoulder to cry on, and has acted like a friend in what has been a very sad journey. My mam sadly passed away 20/06/24, Delanoy were amazing throughout the whole process, John and Julie went above and beyond to give our mam the send off she deserved. Delanoys were so sensitive in organising our Mam’s funeral. Julie and John are easy to trust. At a time when it is hard to think clearly, they take away the worry and stress by stepping you through what needs to happen. They listened and responded with tasteful suggestions. They keep in touch and are very clear on what you do and don’t need to think about. In the end, we had the most wonderful day which celebrated Mam’s life with all the people who knew and loved her. At a sad time, you are very safe in their hands.

Another fantastic service of John Delanoy and Julie from Delanoy Funeral Services myself and 3 other family members been up to durham crematorium for a direct cremation of a uncle although it was only a direct cremation it's what the deceased wanted no fuss.John brought him up in the hearse other company's where just coming in cars or vans walked him into the crematorium put flowers and photo on the coffin at no extra cost and let us even sit with our uncle for couple of mins and played music absolutely fantastic service from them.x
