I can’t find enough words to convey how appreciative we are for the arrangements Delanoy have made for Jim’s passing and funeral. They managed to turn what could have been a sad, mournful day, into a massive celebration of his life. There WERE tears, but the entire day was filled with love and happy memories, all carried out with exceptional organisation.
Losing a partner is very difficult and Jim’s passing WAS expected, and dreaded, but from walking into Delanoy’s office, on that Wednesday, talking to John and Julie, our heartache eased. We were given advice on how to deal with a death, who we needed to notify, etc.
Little did we know that we would be needing John and Julie again - at midnight that very same day. Again, they were there, guiding, listening, waiting, giving comfort to a grieving family. Every step of the process we were kept informed as to what to do, what to expect.
We can’t thank the Delanoy staff enough for the help given on that day and the following three weeks, culminating into a carefully planned, wonderful send off for Jim. You and your staff are to be commended. Everyone at the funeral service said what a joyous occasion you had arranged.

My family cannot speak highly enough of the kind, caring and empathetic service Delanoy Funeral Services provided to us all following the death of our beloved mam. The service and support provided was faultless from the moment they were contacted until the day of the funeral. Julie and John at Delanoy knew that mam was a long-standing Sunderland AFC ticket holder who followed the club home and away. Knowing how much the club meant to her, on the day before her funeral, Delanoy took her on one last trip to the Stadium of Light and made a beautiful short video of the visit. This was entirely at the behest of John and Julie and was a wonderful and emotional surprise for the whole family. It meant so much to us all. Mam would have been so thrilled and delighted. I can't recommend Delanoy's enough. John and Julie were absolutely fantastic for me and my family when organising my dad's funeral. They went above and beyond and made us feel like they genuinely cared for us. They were always just a text away to answer the miriad of questions we had and to include extra things to the service. The tribute video that julie made was brilliant and made sure my dad got the send off he deserved. They made our worst day as lovely as possible and we as a family will never forget it. Delanoys were so sensitive in organising our Mam’s funeral. Julie and John are easy to trust. At a time when it is hard to think clearly, they take away the worry and stress by stepping you through what needs to happen. They listened and responded with tasteful suggestions. when you loose a loved one it’s difficult to know which direction to turn, however i knew that John and Julie would give us the best care of my Mam. Julie is an absolute tower of strength and my Mam looked beautiful and at peace with Julie’s exceptional personal touch.

Another fantastic service of John Delanoy and Julie from Delanoy Funeral Services myself and 3 other family members been up to durham crematorium for a direct cremation of a uncle although it was only a direct cremation it's what the deceased wanted no fuss.John brought him up in the hearse other company's where just coming in cars or vans walked him into the crematorium put flowers and photo on the coffin at no extra cost and let us even sit with our uncle for couple of mins and played music absolutely fantastic service from them.x
