Delenoy Funeral Service go above and beyond for families at the worst time. In the space of 8 months they have done my dads and my mums funeral. I cannot fault the service they provide, the little details they put in place to make it as special as possible and the friendliness of John and Julie.

I recently just lost my father James Handy and John and Julie have been nothing but fantastic through out everything giving me advice on how to do things because i have had to do this on my own i owe John and Julie everything they took real good care of my dad when he was in there care and i have nothing but admiration for them both and the team i honestly cant thank them enough thank you thank you and thank you for bringing him home before and after the funeral and i would give John and Julie more than 5 stars they deserve more than 5. This funeral service is second to none. We really can't thank John and Julie enough following the funeral of my father, Ian Berry. They treated us with the utmost respect and compassion throughout this difficult time, giving us their professional advice while accommodating our requests and wishes. Nothing was too much trouble for them, their priority was our happiness with the service they provided, which has gone beyond the actual funeral. They gave Ian a send off to be proud of, for which we'll be eternally grateful.

I can’t find enough words to convey how appreciative we are for the arrangements Delanoy have made for Jim’s passing and funeral. They managed to turn what could have been a sad, mournful day, into a massive celebration of his life. There WERE tears, but the entire day was filled with love and happy memories, all carried out with exceptional organisation.
Losing a partner is very difficult and Jim’s passing WAS expected, and dreaded, but from walking into Delanoy’s office, on that Wednesday, talking to John and Julie, our heartache eased. We were given advice on how to deal with a death, who we needed to notify, etc.
Little did we know that we would be needing John and Julie again - at midnight that very same day. Again, they were there, guiding, listening, waiting, giving comfort to a grieving family. Every step of the process we were kept informed as to what to do, what to expect.
We can’t thank the Delanoy staff enough for the help given on that day and the following three weeks, culminating into a carefully planned, wonderful send off for Jim. You and your staff are to be commended. Everyone at the funeral service said what a joyous occasion you had arranged.

From the moment we engaged Delanoy Funeral Services the attention given to us as a family was not only professional but personal. Throughout the entire process John and Julie supported us beyond what we could have ever expected. There was no question too big or too small. Every detail was impeccable from the passing of Fred to laying him to rest. The personal touches given by John and Julie put us all at ease - they went above and beyond especially on the day of the funeral, making sure every element was perfect.
The effort in the background ensured that we had nothing to worry about as we could trust it was all being dealt with which took a lot of the worry away in what was a very difficult time for us as a family. The service and support provided was faultless from the moment they were contacted until the day of the funeral. Julie and John at Delanoy knew that mam was a long-standing Sunderland AFC ticket holder who followed the club home and away. Knowing how much the club meant to her, on the day before her funeral, Delanoy took her on one last trip to the Stadium of Light and made a beautiful short video of the visit. This was entirely at the behest of John and Julie and was a wonderful and emotional surprise for the whole family. It meant so much to us all. Mam would have been so thrilled and delighted. This is a really difficult review to write and one I wish I didn't have to. Having lost our 20 year old son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend in unexpected and heartbreaking circumstances, we were completely unprepared and overwhelmed with the task of ensuring we could provide the very best send off he so rightly deserved.

John Delanoy stepped in and immediately understood what our requirements were. He worked closely with us and liased with other parties involved with the arrangements on our behalf. This helped reduce the burden we were facing at a time when empathy, patience and compassion were needed the most.
