Professional Services
These include the availability of our staff 24 hours a day, advising and taking your instruction of all arrangements in connect with the funeral. Giving assistance and advise in matters relating to the funeral, including registration of death; attending to the preparation, collection and distribution of all necessary documentation, liaising with all necessary 3rd parties and where necessary making payments on your behalf e.g doctors, clergy crematoria or burial authorise to enable the funeral to proceed.
Supplementary Funeral Charges
Conveyance of the deceased into our care, Hygienic Preparatory Treatment (Embalming) of deceased if required for viewing, a coffin/ casket as requested, provision of a hearse and all necessary staff to conduct the funeral, transportation of the coffin home/church prior to funeral, limousine & requests regarding cremated remains etc.
Payment of Account
Delanoy Funeral Services operates a pricing policy in compliance with the Code of Practice of the National Society and Independent Funeral Directors.
Our price list provides clients with a full and detailed explanation of our charges as required by the Code.
In addition to our charges, disbursements must be paid to Doctors, Minster of Religion/Officiate, Cemetery or Cremation fees and Additional Expenses paid for Florists, Newspapers and such like. When the funeral arrangements are made you will be given a written estimate of all the charges incurred by the service you have requested. Together with all third party fees which need to be paid before arrangements can be confirmed, these are Disbursements and Additional Expenses & Costs.
We ask for this estimate to be signed as consent that you accept the charges and that you give your authority for the contract to begin before the end of the cancellation period and you will be liable for payment of the account when submitted. This is usually 2 – 3 days after the funeral. If wished, the account may be forwarded to your solicitor; however arrangements must be made and agreed for us to do so, however you will still remain liable for the invoice.
We reserve the right to add interest on all outstanding accounts at 5% per month, back dated to the original date of invoice, for accounts that remain unpaid after 14 days.
If, because of your circumstances, you have to make a claim for assistance from the Department of Work and Pensions, please note that stringent rules apply as to the amount of help available, if any. If your application is successful or not, you accept full liability for any outstanding balance. Please talk to us, in confidence, for guidance.
Information given within this & third party services provided for the funeral
All information stated in this Information Pack is given in good faith. Delanoy Funeral Services Ltd, cannot be held responsible for any error, changes and amendments made to details which are out of our control, loss or damages occurring from information given in Helpful Notes & Guidance, nor for any subsequent loss of benefits, of delay in payments and the quality of any third party services provided by using this information and/or contact details within this pack. This includes items listed in Disbursements and additional Expenses of the Estimate sheet, which you have instructed us to make on your behalf. As these services are not provided by us, we do not accept responsibility or liability for the supplier when they provide the services. We will, however take responsibility for our own negligent actions, should these occur, in selecting or instructing the supplier.
Data Protection
Throughout the period of arrangements being made we will collect personal information about you, the deceased and any other persons whom you supply details for. We need to pass some details onto third parties e.g. florists, caterers, clergy/minsters/officiates, crematorium staff, cemetery staff, monumental masons, specialist vehicle suppliers (coaches and disabled access vehicles) etc. and so companies and governing bodies relating to repatriation within the U.K. or abroad, including countries outside the EEA (where it may not be subject to the same level of protection,).
We may also provide information to the Police, Coroner and Department of Work & Pensions if required by them or as required by law. In the event of non-payment by you, we may send your personal information to third parties in order to recover debt owing.
We will never sell the information to third parties for marketing purposes. We may use the information for purposes of administration, customer service, information about our business, services and products we supply, business management, market research and analysis. We may also monitor and/or record telephone calls for security purposes and to improve our customer service levels.
Right to cancel (Arrangements made in the client’s home only)
You have the right to cancel the contract if you wish. The right can be exercised by sending or taking a cancellation notice to the funeral direct at any time within the period of 7 days starting on the day of the arrangement.
Where applicable, payment may be required to be made in respect of any services carried out or disbursements paid, once the performance of the contact has begun and prior to the cancellation notice being received.
If you wish to cancel the contract you must tell the person named below, in writing, within 7 days. However once the contract has been fulfilled i.e. the funeral has been carried out, then any remaining part of the prescribed 7 day cooling off period no longer applies. A completed contract cannot be cancelled or a day prior to the funeral taking place.
